The Magellan Network Appoints New COO and Marketing Director

Durango, CO (PRWEB) November 29, 2007 -- The Magellan Network, provider of cost-effective Internet-based technology solutions for independent restaurants and small chain restaurants, today announced the appointment of new executives to lead the company in its next phase of growth. Magellan Reservations, the company's current offering, creates direct links between diners and restaurants for online reservations, email marketing and more through standard Internet technology they already use. Chris Poelma has joined as Chief Operating Officer and Yann Ropars is the company's Marketing Director.

Chris brings 20 years of experience building and running technology companies. He was a founder of the first application service provider (ASP), USinternetworking, Inc., and has seen two companies through Initial Public Offerings. Before joining The Magellan Network, Chris served as the CEO of ControlPath, a developer of automated compliance management solutions. Prior to ControlPath, he was CEO of Comprehensive Software Systems, Inc., (CSS), a financial securities software company. Chris held leadership roles at Micros Systems, Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc., and Electronic Data Systems, among other companies. Chris is a frequent speaker at technology and industry forums. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wyoming.

Yann joins The Magellan Network from a Web 2.0 start up also located in Colorado. Before that, he headed sales and marketing for a database and applications services provider (ASP) in New Zealand. Yann was born and raised in France and graduated from the University of Nantes in business management. He moved to Belgium to continue his studies and completed his MBA at the University of Colorado, Denver. After graduation, Yann worked several years in the data storage industry in the US.
